    Melanie King, MD

    Medical Director

    Originally from Louisiana, Dr. Melanie King moved to Charleston in 2008.  She attended Richmond College in the United Kingdom for her undergraduate, earning a degree in International Business. Following graduation, she returned to Louisiana, worked for several years, and then decided to follow her true passion: she enrolled in medical school.  Dr. King attended St. George’s University School of Medicine, and completed her residency at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV for Emergency Medicine. 

    She became interested in non-invasive medical aesthetics in 2010 and began serving clients for Botox and Filler treatments at Charleston Medical Spa in 2012. In 2014, Dr. King became the Medical Director at Charleston Medical Spa. In addition to working at the spa, Dr. King continues to practice in Emergency Medicine.

    Dr. King loves all the clients at the spa, and she enjoys hearing each of their stories, learning about their jobs and families. She feels tremendous gratification with the outcomes of spa procedures, especially how they make each client feel resulting in their personal self-confidence. The clients are always happy to be at Charleston Medical Spa—something much different from the ER! Dr. King is married with two school-aged children.

    Lisa Query, COO

    Spa Director

    Lisa Query, a Charleston native, is co-owner and Spa Director of Charleston Medical Spa.  Following 13 years of working in the financial world, Lisa helped establish the spa in 2005. Lisa enjoys growing and continuously learning about the ever-changing industry of the medical spa business.

    Lisa’s passion for anti-aging has brought her much success in the medical spa industry. As Spa Director, Lisa keeps all of the staff and technicians current with the latest techniques and treatments. She attends training classes, workshops, and trade shows with various educators and vendors to stay up-to-date with the latest technology, variety of equipment available, products and services. Lisa is a certified laser technician, as well as Exilis technician. 

    Leslie von Lehe

    RN, BSN

    Leslie enjoyed being a client at Charleston Medical Spa so much that she decided to join our team.  She specializes in facial rejuvenation treatments through neuromodulators. 

    Leslie earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Kent State University and brings with her more than 25 years of critical care nursing expertise.  Before working at Charleston Medical Spa, she was a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse. Leslie enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, and traveling with her husband.

    Bethany DeLaughter

    RN, BSN

    Bethany DeLaughter RN, BSN has over 15 years of experience in the aesthetic industry performing Botox, Filler and Laser treatments. Her advanced experience allows her to perform more advanced treatments such as hyper-dilute Radiesse acting as a skin rejuvenation treatment rather than a volumizer for the neck, décolleté, knees and more. She also has extensive experience with more advanced injection methods such as tear trough fillers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

    Kandra Powers

    Clinical Esthetician

    Kandra is a NC native who has lived in Charleston for 7 years. She became interested in aesthetics after holding the position as a spa front desk manager. In 2007, she became licensed and began her career as a holistic esthetician. Over the years she realized that she could not meet all of her clients skincare goals this way. In 2017, she advanced her career and became a certified laser technician. She has a passion for nature, teaching the importance of self care and helping one love the skin they’re in. In her free time she likes to garden and be with her family and friends. She is a mountain girl who lives by the sea. 

    Samara Bauer

    Clinical Esthetician

    Samara has been an Aesthetician since 2000 and began with Charleston Medical Spa in 2015.  As a Charleston native, she decided to move back home after her daughter was born to be closer to family. Previously she worked as the Lead Aesthetician for the top two medical spas in Raleigh, one of which was consistently rated the #1 medical spa in the country at the time.  She has extensive knowledge in medical aesthetic and laser procedures, skin care products and ingredients. Samara absolutely loves what she does and does not consider it work, but rather a passion that she could not live without. Samara takes a comprehensive approach to skin health and helps clients find the appropriate treatments and products that will work for them in their immediate goals and long term.

    Samara has worked with and attended numerous clinical trainings for different laser modalites, IPL and BBL, radio frequency, peels, dermaplaning, post surgical aesthetic procedures, microneedling, fat reduction and body contouring.  She has co-created two private label skin care lines, worked as the skin care buyer for the former top medical spa in the country, written several aesthetic procedural manuals and conducted procedural and product trainings for dozens of aestheticians.  Samara has also helped create, organize and conduct continuing education seminars for Medical Aesthetic professionals at the International Esthetics, Cosmetics and Spa conference in Orlando.  

    Having been in the industry so long, she has seen many changes, advancements, increased awareness in skin health and clients becoming much more proactive.  She invites you to start or continue your skin care journey here at Charleston Medical Spa

    Morgan Brooks

    Clinical Esthetician

    Morgan comes to us with years of experience in Laser & Facial treatments plus Microblading of the Eyebrows, Permanent Eyeliner, Lip Pigmentation, Blush, Scar Camouflaging, and 3D Areola Pigmentation. She is also a member of the ZO Skin Health Advisory Board. 

    Morgan enjoys spending time with her husband and beautiful daughter.  You might even find her in the cockpit as she became a private pilot this year and started a non-profit called the Brooks Foundation 2019. ✈️

    Abby Kopald

    Clinical Esthetician

    My passion for skin health came at an early age, having struggled with my own skin for so many years. After finding the perfect skincare routine for myself, I knew I wanted to be in this industry helping others achieve theirs. Once I received my Esthetics License I wanted to further my knowledge through advanced education, during this time I was able to receive hands on training for treatments such as  Microneedling, Dermaplaning and Medical Grade Chemical Peels. I also became certified in a variety of Cosmetic Lasers, gaining extensive knowledge & techniques for multiple skin conditions.

    I am passionate about skin health & dedicated to helping other achieve their optimal appearance with healthy, glowing skin. I am determined to establish a custom plan for my patients beauty needs & provide effective and successful results.

    When I’m not at Charleston Medical Spa, you can find me sipping on some coffee at a local coffee shop, loving on my furbaby, & enjoying the Lowcountry with friends & family.
